| A closer look at parts of the piece follow. The statue I introduced into the painting you might recognize as a piece of sculpture by Etienne Maurice Falconet that sits in the Louvre. It was done in 1757 and is titled 'La Baigneuse' The bird is a Roseate Spoonbill, one of my favorite birds to paint (and yes they really are that color). |
