This piece of furniture is a great example of faux finishing combined with some creative carpentry. A very good finish carpenter took a sheet of plywood and made this piece. Then he used some ordinary trim molding to make the panels and doubled up the base molding at the bottom. A darkly stained medallion was placed in the center with some corbels at each side supporting the beautiful granite top.
