Creating Walls of Enduring Beauty

Sometimes you want to stop before the job is done. This was one of those times. If I stopped at the point shown below I would have been just as happy as I was when I actually finished the wall.

Looking at a close-up you can see the gold, silver and copper metallic squares. There about 7 or 8 other colors in the wall also. I mixed them up and over painted here and there pretty good. There was no plan at all. The wall was done in a totally random fashion.

What is interesting about that is even though you have a 'mechanical' layout with the very defined grid work of the squares, the random application of paint colors/metallics creates a certain looseness, an inviting organic feeling.

However, after the application of the final two terra cotta glazes it is hard to argue a case for not finishing. This is truly a stunning wall.
