Creating Walls of Enduring Beauty

This pool deck area was painted to simulate large slabs of marble.

You can see from the picture below the beautiful location I got to work in on this project. This home is in the Tampa Bay area the view you see is looking to the west. Every evening the home owners get treated to a fabulous sunset over the water.

You can see from the picture above and below how it all started to come together.

The photo below is interesting because it shows a completed slab next to one that has yet to be painted.

A series of photos from the completed deck follow. The first one shows stress fractures in the marble. The initial inspiration to paint the deck like large marble slabs came from the homeowners and their frustration with stress cracks in the concrete pool deck. Trying to patch and cover up the cracks met with limited success. They approached me with idea of painting the deck like marble and incorporating the cracks as stress fissures in the marble. What a great idea and the deck turned out to be spectacular.
